In August 2017, the International Fairy Tale Film Festival fabulix®, unique in Europe, celebrated its premiere in the Ore Mountains, Saxony. More than 20,000 guests, moviegoers and filmmakers were enthusiastic about this new festival format.
The 2nd edition in summer 2019 was also an exciting attraction with attractive open-air film screening areas and an intergenerational program. The goal of the festival is to showcase the diversity and development of fairy tale film while broadening our view of the cultural heritage of fairy tales and fairy tale film from other countries, cultural backgrounds and narrative forms.
An essential part of our film festival fabulix® is to offer creators in the children's and youth film industry a professional-creative platform. Already in previous years, our symposium contributed to the cross-border exchange of ideas and projects of the international participants. This year we are pleased to be able to organize the symposium together with the Filmverband Sachsen e.V..

Symposium "The European Fairy Tale Film 2.23"
on Thursday, July 06, 2023 from 15:00 o'clock to 16:30 o'clock
in the town hall of Annaberg-Buchholz, Markt 1.

- Fairy tale pearls - the development of a cross-generational ZDF series Lecturers: Dr. Irene Wellershoff and Jörg von den Steinen
- Funding opportunities for film projects through the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony, workshop discussion with Robert Grahl, film consultant
- Short presentation of new project ideas
