The mascot for the Annaberg KÄT
The tradition of the KÄT camel in Annaberg-Buchholz is derived from the fact that over 100 years ago, great shows featuring exotic animals such as camels brought a special flair to Annaberg KÄT. In later years the term came to refer to KÄT fans who would visit the festival grounds every day.
This gave rise to the familiar phrase: "You are a real KÄT camel".
A life-sized KÄT camel has been present at the fair since May 24, 2014 and can be seen at KÄT every day. It was given the name "Katie" at the grand opening on June 21, 2014.
For Family Day on June 5th from 5 p.m., all mascots from Saxony, Germany and Europe are invited to meet with the KÄT CAMEL at a big mascot meeting at KÄT. From 5 p.m. these guests from near and far will be introduced at the Kätwache. Afterwards, the traditional KÄT conga series with the mascots goes on tour through the festival grounds. If you are interested in mascots, please contact Mr. Till Schwabe, Tel. 01717940273 or email: info@tanzbar-sw.de.
