The adventure mine "Dorothea-Stolln" located in the Cunersdorf district is a special testament to a mining history spanning almost 500 years.
Silver mining was being practiced here even before 1530.
The silver veins of Himmlisch Heer were especially profitable in the first half of the 16th century. Reports from this time state that: "...there it's always Himmlisch Heer that is said to be the richest mine and is counted among the most productive mines." This mining gem has been persevered just as it was originally.
When you visit you will be spellbound by medieval tunnel and vein tracts, mine structures chiseled with mallets and iron, mechanized shaft systems, quarry stone and brick masonry, technical water systems, and much more.
