The three Municipal Museums

The city of Annaberg-Bucholz maintains three museums, whose unique special features welcome visitors to embark on a journey of discovery through Ore Mountain history and culture.

Directly across from St. Anne's Church, the Erzgebirgsmuseum (Ore Mountains Museum) with Silver Mine, Im Gößner, offers impressive experiences above and below ground.

The Frohnauer Hammer with its three sections featuring a hammer forge, folk art gallery, and manor house is one of the most well-known attractions and destinations in the Ore Mountains.

This "treasure chest" of our city has been welcoming visitors to discover amazing things from the Ore Mountains since October 29, 2010. The Manufaktur der Träume - the new interactive museum in the heart of the historic downtown district - presents historic toys, impressive mining objects, and enchanting objects from Ore Mountain Christmas culture in a collection spanning three levels.

According to Adam Ries(e) that would be ...

The newly designed Adam Ries Museum from 2008 located in the former residence of Adam Ries shows the life and work of this historically significant personality famous beyond Annaberg as a mathematical master, cossit, and mountain official. Closely connected with the museum is the work of the Adam-Ries-Bund e.V., which runs the mathematics school and is also responsible for Ries Successor Research (Ries-Nachfahren-Forschung) and tenders the Ries Mathematics Competition (Ries-Mathematik-Wettbewerb).
