Where faith and architecture come to life...
St. Anne's Church, built 1499-1525, is one of the most significant late Gothic hall churches in Germany. The grand interior is home to valuable artistic treasures that are worth a visit - the pulpit created by sculptor Frans Maidburg, the so-called Annaberg Mountain Altar (Annaberger Bergaltar) by Hans Hesse, the baptismal font and the "beautiful door" (Schöne Tür) by Hans Witten. A sophisticated and varied offering of church music is an integral part of life in the religious community of St. Anne's Church. Listening in on the ring of the recently restored Walcker Organ from the year 1884 with its over 4000 pipes and 65 registers would be a very special high point of any visit.
